Kodak has announced (or leaked) ten new cameras in 2008 so far, but ten is not enough, yet ten megapixels is the magic number as their new 12X Kodak Z1012 IS superzoom "grows up" to what looks like a 10mp 1/2.33" sensor. Oh boy! Details from Kodak itself.

Don't let the numbers confuse you. Even though their Z1286 IS has a higher model number, it is actually a step below the Z1012IS in the Kodak line-up. The Z1012 follows-up on the Kodak Z812 IS, which followed up on the Kodak Z712 IS. Also don't let this confuse you with the Kodak Z1085 IS, which actually has a 5X IS lens.
Kodak promises a click-to-capture speed of 0.23 seconds, PSAM (okay, PASM), HD video, a 12X SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON Optical Zoom IS Lens (33–396 mm f2.8-4.8), high *cough* *cough* ISO mode (we'll skip the details), histogram (live view, quick review and review), face detection, text and voice tagging, scenes galore but also the traditional photographic PASM (we call it PSAM, P-SAM, easier to remember for the newcomers). The camera comes with a KODAK Li-Ion Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KLIC-8000.
