More Nokia Cell Phones For the Chinese Market

nokia cell phonesI don’t have the exact figures, but in the last quarter alone Nokia sold 16 million phones to the Chinese.Today Nokia announced a deal they made with China Postel, China’s leading mobile phone distributor. It has 30 per cent of the Chinese market and it needs $2.5 billion-worth of mobile phones more from Nokia for this year alone. Granted that some of that money is going to developing networks, still the amount when divide to, say, $150 per mobile phone sold in China, is around 16 million Nokia phones give or take a million. This is just for China Postel. For the entire country,in Q1 alone, 16 million units represents a 34 per cent increase of volume of Nokia phones from last year. As for Postel mobile, frrom 1998 onwards, it has bought 37 million phones from Nokia.
China is expected to have four hundred million users by 2015. If it were to emulate the ultra-mobile Brits, who collectively currently own more cellphones than they have citizens, that would be 1.35 billion phones. Which means pretty much the extermination of Chinesehoneybees.
