Panasonic GF1 is nice digital camera with 1080p

Panasonic GF1 is nice digital camera with 1080p video recording and many more things…

The Panasonic Lumix GF1 Micro Four Thirds has a similar size to the Olympus EP1, as you can see in this comparison thought. Just a bit smaller.
The new Panasonic Lumix GF1 may have just stolen my heart. I was set to get the Olympus EP1 but now I’m having second thoughts.
Given that there’s been so much new camera activity lately – both in DSLR and compact market areas, as well as the recent launch of the Olympus E-P1, this is apparently some detail on a forthcoming LX3 replacement.
Panasonic was first to reveal the new Digital Interchangeable Lens system with the Lumix DMC-G1; Olympus generated the buzz with its retro look E-P1; and now Panasonic has caught up — and done it right — with the Lumix DMC-GF1.

The Panasonic GF1 has a modern, sleek, all-black design. Handling is excellent and image quality is very good in both good and low light. The GF1 has fixed the shortcomings that photographers complained about concerning the Olympus E-P1: the GF1 features fast autofocus in all lighting situations, has a built-in flash, has a high resolution LCD screen, and comes with an optional electronic Live Viewfinder that can be used with all lenses.
When faced with the need to upgrade from a compact digicam to a DSLR, many beginners balk at the size, weight and relative complexity of the DSLR. Now, they have a choice: the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1marries the best of the DSLR and compact digicam worlds to give us the image quality and performance we expect from a DSLR and the ease of use and compactness of the digicam. So, if you are not sure about getting a DSLR, try the Panasonic GF1. Find out why many reviewers have gone and gotten one for themselves.

By utilizing the same groundwork of this DMC-GH1 hack, a group of crafty coders have devised a way to allow for all sorts of funky tweaks to the beloved Lumix GF1 — most notably, 1080p video recording. Besides the full HD recording, using a reworked version of the camera’s firmware, the micro four thirds shooter has had its video recording bit rates upped, added 4.2.2 color sampling, and looks like it could be getting full manual control and 24p/25p shooting options down the road.
Rumours have been rife for a while – perhaps what we see above will be the reality, and with so many reported LX3 global stock shortages, maybe it’ll be here sooner than we think.
Some users are already maximizing their camera’s abilities with the hacks, though based on reading we’ve done in the DVXuserforums, the firmware changes don’t seem completely ready for primetime. Regardless, it’s pretty encouraging news for those us who are already having a torrid love affair with the GF1. Check out some 1080p examples after the break.

Panasonic is pleased to announce a new special edition of the world-acclaimed Lumix DMC-GF1 – “Sakura” pink. This delicate color takes its inspiration from the beautiful petals of cherry blossom which sparkle during Japanese springtime. The Panasonic DMC-GF1 debuted as the world’s smallest and lightest system cameras with a built-in flash, distinguished by an artistic flat body that is both elegant and compact. Featuring AVCHD Lite high quality HD movie recording, a palette of creative possibilities and user-friendly functions including LUMIX’s renowned iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, thanks to all these features the Panasonic DMC-GF1 has gained great popularity worldwide.
The Panasonic Lumix GF1 has gained popularity with both photo enthusiasts and new users (including females), looking to improve their photographic skills while using a compact and lightweight camera. By adding the new pink to the conventional color variation of black, red, silver and white, the Panasonic DMC-GF1 further enhances its reputation of bringing pleasure and excitement to owning a high quality camera in the digital era.
