Acer’s Liquid E Ferrari Edition

Acer has long been known as Ferrari’s partner. The Taiwanese company released quite a few notebooks branded with the famous prancing horse. Now, Acer and Ferrari announced the first Android-powered Ferrari smartphone – Acer Liquid E Ferrari Edition. The exact release date for this concept device is unknown and the same goes for pricing. We, however, know that the specs will remain identical to the original Liquid E. These include a WVGA capacitive touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Snapdragon processor. The difference is in the color (Ferrari Edition is red, obviously) and the presence of the Ferrari logo on the phone’s back. In addition, the Ferrarismartphone comes pre-loaded with exclusive content like wallpapers, video clips and ringtones. Finally, there’s the ultra chic Ferrari case made out of high-quality materials to “safeguard the handset from shocks and dust” while at the same time being a “pleasure for the eye and touch.”
Sure, the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition features the same underclocked 768MHz Snapdragon and Android 2.1 as the original Liquid E that launched in February, but, well, this model comes with a flashy Ferrari F1 Red paint job and matching Elite Bluetooth earpiece. Can’t say no to that, can you? You know the rest of the drill: 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen, five megapixel camera with autofocus, geotagging, and adjustable ISO, included 8GB microSD card, and the Acer Sync app that syncs changes across your handset and PC.
