2011 Apple iPhone 4

iphone 4
This is the only phone in this list that we never got to fully review, but we did get to use it just enough to know that the boys over in the States weren’t going crazy over it for no reason. For most of us at Techtree, there is little doubt in our minds that the iPhone is the best smartphone in the world and the iPhone 4 is the best iPhone that has ever come out.
It is hard to come across a device that unites so many qualities so beautifully as the iPhone 4 does. The phones has a drop-dead gorgeous design, visually stunning display with the highest resolution of any smartphone, a world-class operating system that remains unbeaten when it comes to design, ease of use and the quantity and quality of applications that are available for it.
The iPhone 4 was also blessed with a superb hardware that perfectly compliments the software. Although the phone has been burdened with controversies such as the early leak of the antennagate issue and the non-availability of the white-colored version, the iPhone 4 managed to survive all that and create some record-breaking sales that are still going strong. Call us Apple fanboys if you will, but we are yet to see a more complete smartphone than Apple’s iPhone 4.

Apple iPhone Experience the Difference

iphone Apple
Apple iPhone has been the talk of the town ever since it was launched, way back in June. But the heat is on as the device comes to UK in November this year. Apple iPhone ia a highly anticipated gadget in the mobile phone market of today and it has a tremendous impact on the mobile phone market which is reflected from the long queues that are lined up in from of the O2 office.
Apple has tied up with O2 and so iPhone is coming with O2 in the market. Having sold more than a million of the mobile phone in US, Apple plans to spread its tentacles in the mobile phone market of Europe. And there is enough hue and cry about its grand release. The eyes of users are gleaming with anticipation and their arms are outstretched to grab this device.
Apple iPhone is an interesting device which is a complete all touch based mobile phone and it is the USP of this device. The touch screen reflects a spectrum of 16M colours through it and that makes the device all the more brilliant. Further, Apple iPhone runs on Quad-Band GSM network that allows you to take this device anywhere around the clock. Plus, the other connectivity features like GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth are also a part of this mobile phone. The integrated Wi-Fi in Apple iPhone also ensures that the device can give you a speedy Internet connectivity.
There is a 2 Mega Pixels camera in this mobile phone which gives a decent image quality. However the users are not very happy with the camera. It is not able to record movie clips. So, the camera of this mobile phone is not decent enough to give a good picture quality. Further, the integrated iPodresults in an excellent audio quality in this mobile phone. The user can listen to the iPod quality music in this device which is capable of saving as much songs as you want in this mobile phone with its4/8GB memory.

New Apple iPhones come loaded with expectations

Apple Inc. needs a dramatic second act with the next generation of iPhones, which roll out Friday with faster internet access and lower retail prices, to sustain its momentum and keep fickle consumers and Wall Street happy.

But given its history, there are no guarantees against a letdown for the company or its volatile stock. Apple has stumbled before in its foray into the cellular business, with a poorly executed price cut two months after the iPhone launch that left many early buyers fuming. And now that it's a significant part of the wireless market, Apple faces some of the same threats as more-established handset makers.

Among those pressures: intensifying competition and the uncertainty of a fractured market with many big players. There's also the risk that even with Apple's sparkling reputation, theApple iPhone might become so widely available that it loses some of the cachet that inspires buyers to wait in lines outside stores. It's clear that Apple has rattled the cellphone industry with the iPhone's design and features, which are being copied by other handset makers. And the company appears on track to meeting its sales targets for the iPhone — essential to appeasing investors.

Apple iPad 2 for spring 2011?

As Wired magazine released on their website, Apple has put in a request to its Asian partner Foxconn to produce the second generation within 100 days, heading for April 2011.

Digitimes also reports that Foxconn was sent plans to ship the iPad 2 by February 2011, with its first shipment somewhere between 400,000 and 600,000 units, Digitimes' sources also believe in a release in April 2011.

Apple likes to have a schedule to update their products. As CNET tells in their latest Apple Byte Segment of their half an hour Tech Review YouTube video. Such as iPhone's and iPod's have a yearly update, iMacs every seven months, and every six months for Macbooks. So would the iPad want to stay uniform with the other iOS devices and head towards a yearly update? Apple did release the current iPad in April so that is another fact behind Digitimes' and Wired's sources.

Wired Magazine also reports that Asian websites are posting pictures of supposedly iPad 2 third party cases. These cases were spotted by Apple fan blogs MacRumors, iLounge and Powerbook Medic, who all spotted common characteristics: a hole for a rear facing camera and a rectangular hole on the bottom right that could cater for an SD card slot. This is all great however i find the rear facing camera a bit pointless unless their is a front facing camera as well, which is impossible to tell in these pictures. You would only need a camera on an iPad for facetime. Imagine if you are leaving for a holiday and your wife asks you if you have the camera. You reply with "ill use the iPad". its like buying lamb for a sausage sizzle. It can do the same thing the sausages (cameras) can do, but its not the same.

More rumors you ask? Digitimes again reports of asian company Largen supplying the lenses for iPads. Another hint towards the camera. Largen Precision has worked for Apple before manufacturing the lenses for the iPhone 4. It is rumored that the front facing camera would be 3 megapixels and the rear will be 5 megapixels. iPad 2 has also been speculated to have a USB port on the side and a retina display however there are no facts to back these theories up.

One more rumor for you. On September 26 Gizmodo posted a copy of the Patent Apple submitted of a landscape 30-pin dock connector. Which is extra convenience for iPad owners.

Before i go i just want to share this tweet that Steve Jobs posted on twitter, just to punch us tech sites in the face.

Apple Launches iPad

Apple Launches iPad

MAGICAL & REVOLUTIONARY DEVICE AT AN UNBELIEVABLE PRICE

SAN FRANCISCO—January 27, 2010—Apple® today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.

“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”

iPad features 12 next-generation Multi-Touch applications. Every app works in both portrait and landscape, automatically animating between views as the user rotates iPad in any direction. The precise Multi-Touch interface makes surfing the web on iPad an entirely new experience, dramatically more interactive and intimate than on a computer. Reading and sending email is fun and easy on iPad’s large screen and almost full-size “soft” keyboard. Import photos from a Mac®, PC or digital camera, see them organized as albums, and enjoy and share them using iPad’s elegant slideshows. Watch movies, TV shows and YouTube, all in HD or flip through pages of an e-book you downloaded from Apple’s new iBookstore while listening to your music collection.

iPad runs almost all of the over 140,000 apps on the App Store, including apps already purchased for your iPhone® or iPod touch®. The iTunes® Store gives you access to the world’s most popular online music, TV and movie store with a catalog of over 11 million songs, over 50,000 TV episodes and over 8,000 films including over 2,000 in stunning high definition video. Apple also announced the new iBooks app for iPad, which includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile device. The iBookstore will feature books from major and independent publishers.

Apple also introduced a new version of iWork® for iPad, the first desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch. With Pages®, Keynote® and Numbers® you can create beautifully formatted documents, stunning presentations with animations and transitions, and spreadsheets with charts, functions and formulas. The three apps will be available separately through the App Store for $9.99 each.

iPad syncs with iTunes just like the iPhone and iPod touch, using the standard Apple 30-pin to USB cable, so you can sync all of your contacts, photos, music, movies, TV shows, applications and more from your Mac or PC. All the apps and content you download on iPad from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBookstore will be automatically synced to your iTunes library the next time you connect with your computer.

iPad’s brilliant 9.7-inch, LED-backlit display features IPS technology to deliver crisp, clear images and consistent color with an ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle. The highly precise, capacitive Multi-Touch display is amazingly accurate and responsive whether scrolling web pages or playing games. The intelligent soft keyboard pioneered on iPhone takes advantage of iPad’s larger display to offer an almost full-size soft keyboard. iPad also connects to the new iPad Keyboard Dock with a full-size traditional keyboard.

iPad is powered by A4, Apple’s next-generation system-on-a-chip. Designed by Apple, the new A4 chip provides exceptional processor and graphics performance along with long battery life of up to 10 hours.* Apple’s advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology deliver up to 1,000 charge cycles without a significant decrease in battery capacity over a typical five year lifespan.**

iPad comes in two versions—one with Wi-Fi and the other with both Wi-Fi and 3G. iPad includes the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi, and the 3G versions support speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA networks. Apple and AT&T announced breakthrough 3G pre-paid data plans for iPad with easy, on-device activation and management.

Continuing Apple’s dedication to designing and creating environmentally responsible products, each iPad enclosure is made of highly recyclable aluminum and comes standard with energy-efficient LED-backlit displays that are mercury-free and made with arsenic-free glass. iPad contains no brominated flame retardants and is completely PVC-free.

Apple today released a new Software Development Kit (SDK) for iPad, so developers can create amazing new applications designed to take advantage of iPad’s capabilities. The SDK includes a simulator that lets developers test and debug their iPad apps on a Mac, and also lets developers create Universal Applications that run on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Pricing & Availability

iPad will be available in late March worldwide for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date. iBookstore will be available in the US at launch.

*Apple tested wireless battery life by browsing web pages and receiving email over an AirPort® network, never letting the system go to sleep during the test, and keeping the display at half brightness. This is a typical scenario of use on the go, resulting in a battery performance number that is very relevant to mobile users.

**A properly maintained iPad battery is designed to retain 80 percent or more of its original capacity during a lifespan of up to 1,000 recharge cycles. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings.

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital media revolution with its iPod portable music and video players and iTunes online store, and has entered the mobile phone market with its revolutionary iPhone.
